MEET THE DUO

Circus Sorbet is a vibrant celebration of love and partnership, brought to life by the talented performers Anthony Tran and Fay MacFarlane. Their journey embodies the true spirit of the Fringe, having first met at Perth Fringe World in 2015. Since that fateful encounter, they've fallen deeply in love and committed themselves to perfecting their craft, sharing both their art and lives on stage. The fusion of their unique styles captivates audiences with a mesmerizing blend of storytelling, stunning acrobatics, expressive dance, breathtaking aerial acts, and playful absurdity. Each performance by Anthony and Fay highlights the beauty of connection, passion, and creativity, making "Circus Sorbet" a dazzling, heartfelt experience that truly captures the essence of artistic partnership.

Anthony is a multidisciplinary movement artist, director, and educator with over ten years’ experience in circus, dance, and physical theatre. He has taught and performed with Kinetica Circus, Circus WA, Circus Maxima, and ARTRAGE (Rocky Horror: The Immersive; RE//PERTH Winter Arts Festival). Anthony directed and choreographed Love Life Laundry, a critically acclaimed circus-theatre work that toured nationally and earned Best Circus nominations at Adelaide Fringe (2023–25). He now leads Circus Sorbet’s latest production SPYHARD.

Fay is a circus performer recognised for her technical precision and expressive physical storytelling. With foundations in gymnastics and pole arts, she has developed a unique vocabulary blending aerial straps, contemporary dance, and floor-based acrobatics. She is a two-time national titleholder, winning Miss Pole Dance WA 2019 and the 2023 WA Pole Professional Championships. Fay also has extensive experience in aerial rigging and stage management, contributing to productions across WA.
